Title: HM01 @ 11530 kHz, 2305 UTC
Post by: Asuyuka on February 20, 2013, 2314 UTC
Picking up V2A on 11530 kHz from 2305 til now.  Sounds like its being jammed, or data, mixed in with voice?  No ability to record at the moment.

Did it sound something like this?

If so, it's prolly HM01.

Oh yes, my bad.  I'm used to hearing V2A with that voice, so it was my mistake.  I'll edit the title. :)

Have you noticed that even though Cuba has "improved" their numbers broadcasts with the digital thing, they are still plagued with the slipshod operation as in years past. I hear broadcasts start up to 9 minutes late...in progress & then cut off "mid-number", broadcasts on the wrong frequency, little bits of Radio Havana audio at the start of broadcasts etc. I listen to HM01 alot of times just because you never know what will happen, just like RHC.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

I've notced that too, Glimmer twin.  I've got one posted in my youtube collection where the signal was like s-40 but they had really low audio.  Typical for them, I guess.  I often wonder if there is anything substantive with HM01, or if they just do it to keep us (the USA) guessing.

I think the voice is exactly the same, they just added the data.  I never hear Cuba without the data, anymore. Good catch, nontheless.

Yes, I happened to tune in to the earlier transmission at 2200z on 17480. The carrier kept going on and off.
