That's not an overdone Massachusetts accent. The university I went to used to play Boston College on a home and home basis.(Flutie was 0-4 against us, the runt.) Their fan's would pack the bars after the game. One place I stopped in they all sounded like Elmer. I remember thinking, "It's nice they bring the disabled fans to away games." Nope, they just sounded that way, it was an accent unique to the area they came from. They have been from Zekeyburg.
