Title: RN da Amazonia 6180 AM 0852 UTC 4 JUN 2024
Post by: RobRich on June 04, 2024, 0856 UTC
Talk over background music at 0852z into music. SIO 222 via Airspy HF+D and 31' vertical LSB sync tuning due to Radio Educacion on 6185am. Considerable static crashing and rather weak signal, but it is there. Verified against the station's online stream.

Reportedly 250KW from Brazil.

Interestingly, it might be both. According to....

6180KHz = 250KW
11780KHz = 100KW

i dont claim to be an expert, but....

I get a stellar signal from 11780 up here quite often and from time to time, its as solid and good sounding as FM Mono, really.. .. im at the perfect place for a 2nd or 3rd hop and right in the center of the beam.

11780 isabout 355 deg az beam

6180 is a little off from that, about 345 or so, based upon a map i saw somewhere.

I say that to say this.

If 6180 were 250kw, i think it owuld be better for me than it is. I mean its good, but even at times when youd think it should be the better of the two signals, it isnt.

I thin
