where I was and what I was doing 50 years ago. :)

Kids today can never appreciate what happened 50 years ago today.  Thanks Sigma just watched the first step again.

I was in elementary school during all this and I tried to explain to my wife who is much younger how significant it was at the time. Seemed like the earth stood still while we all waited for the next update from the mission. We were recently at the Cape Canaveral Space Center and saw their Apollo 11 movie which brought all those memories back. It was a great time to be alive to witness it first hand as it happened and it was a highly positive thing that brought everyone together.
