I was given his autobiography for Christmas a few years ago, but I haven't gotten around to reading it. It's a large book, so I imagine it has a lot of great stories in it.

Another one who falls into Richard's category is Ginger Baker, of Cream. I read an interview with him a while back, and he also seems to be able to defy fate, regardless of his life of complete dissipation.

Keith is a miracle of chemistry.

By the way, pay attention to the title of this thread. "Fansome's right". This is almost always true.

Don't drag me into his weird world. The other day he was telling me a whopper about his youth as a basketball playing beaver.

And if California slides into the ocean
Like the mystics and statistics say it will
I predict this motel will be standing until I pay my bill

Well it's hard to believe,
So you get up to leave,
And you laugh at the door,
That you heard it all before,
Oh it's so good to know
And it's all just a show for you
But when the suppers are planned,
And the freeways are crammed,
And the mountains erupt
And the valley is sucked into cracks in the earth
Will I finally be heard by you, now, LA
Uptight, city in the smog, city in the smog
Don't you wish that you could be here too
