Propagation over gray line 15 NOV 2023

(1/1)

kris:
Today I had a nice practical lesson in the propagation of radio waves through the "gray line".
At approximately 0800 UTC the day/night boundary was across the Atlantic.
I went to channel 6160 AM to listen to music for breakfast, and here it clearly thunders S9+25 WBCQ Monticello 50kW 6000km. Korean Pyongyang BS Kanggye 50kW 7600km no trace.
At 0800, as scheduled, AM Shortwave Radio Gold 1kW Winsen Germany 650km greeted us quietly and with fading.
As each quarter of an hour passed, WBCQ weakened until it disappeared, and the Radio Gold signal grew stronger, now reaching (1020 UTC) S9+20.

RN da Amazonia 6180 AM 250kW Brazilia DF 9900 km I couldn't hear it in the morning, although at night they are clearly received when the channel is free.
Theory fully confirmed by practice! ;D
