Specs on the venerable RS 270-030A?
Billy the Mountain:
Anyone have something close to reasonable specifications on this old part? Yes, yes, doing a little experimenting, and something like this might come in handy!
I see Mouser has something that isn't too expensive at about $5 a crack: 553-CMT908-V2.
I could hand wind my own, too, but like to spend more time actually testing rather than winding, dontcha know.
Danke.
Billy the Mountain:
Duh, answered my own question. Why is it that I find the answer only after I seek out an answer via the collected brane trust?

Towards the bottom.
redhat:
What are you trying to do with it?

Billy the Mountain:
Oh, you *would* ask that, wouldn't you? Fooling around with Heising modulation. I know enough to know what exactly I'm trying to accomplish, and if the RS part (RIP) fit the bill for certain types of designs, something with similar specs would do the same job.
Basically, a giant RF choke that is low resistance and can pass a decent amount of current (say, oh, 4 amps).
Once things get put together, I can look at it on the scope to see if it's doing the job well or not.
redhat:
I wish you luck in your quest, young jedi.
