6925u .. UNID commenced 9:08 PM CDT / 2:08z

<< < (2/3) > >>

Zoidberg:
Sounds like a DSB signal, audible on both LSB/USB, shifting/drifting between 6925-6925.5.  Preacher-style religious/political rant.  S5-S7 over S3-S5 static crashes.

SW-J:

--- Quote from: Seamus on June 23, 2010, 0226 UTC ---Yeah - I never did figure out what it was.  Frequency was off just enough - and the music abstract enough - that by the time I was able to figure out that it _WAS_ de-tuned, it was already well into the transmission.

I guess that's a good reason to at least start a show (and pepper it within the playlist) with a bit of voice, or at least music that everyone knows, so that they can tune it in properly and know that they've done so.  Wailing guitars and obscure jam sets are difficult to tune to, largely because you aren't sure just what they're supposed to sound like when you get them tuned properly.

And drifting ... a wildly preaching preacher is speaking now and the station is 370 Hz high and ... still drifting.

Signal now picking up 9:33 PM / 2:33z

S5 on peaks. So are the lightning crashes unfortunately.

Freq at +380 Hz now

Yeah, I could faintly hear the carrier ... used it to find the zero-beat b/c listening to the program content sure wasn't getting the job done!

Now showing +370 high on Icom 756 Series radio ...

Now here comes some music!

SW-J:
Okay - the station in there is 190 Hz high ... had to cheat and use narrow CW filter to find where the weak carrier was located.

There may be a 2nd station as well and as propagation moves around one or the other gets stronger.

Guitar coming through good right now at 9:53 PM / 2:53z

Throbbing Gristle:
Sounds like a 'rerun'... heard it before.
