I often receive these Greek pirates too just above the medium wave band on 180 meters - 1610-1750 khz.  They are Greek AM pirates, whose signal briefly comes on with some music and talking and then off again, I think they correspond with each other on air, as shortly after another pirate switches on, on the same frequency with a reply in Greek and some music.

I do not understand what they say.  They tend to use a fair amount of transmitter power and large antennas. There is an established and extensive mediumwave AM pirate culture in Greece and it is tolerated a fair amount by the Greek government

In my QTH I often hear Greek MW stations.

Your link was leading to a tip for 1629 kHz. Any way, I found the right tip for 1665. Hope it was the same station?

P.S. I don't understand why the European MW tips are mixed with the American MW tips.
