Zoidberg:
Update: In a 9/18/08 reply to my e-mail inquiry to HAARP, they state this was not HAARP testing and that they do not use this frequency range due to proximity to 40m amateur band. -- Lex

6920 USB/6922 LSB, 9/18/08, 0130-0200 UTC (9/17/08, 8:30-9:00 p.m. Central, U.S.), continuous distorted audio with rushing sound and comb filter-type effect.  Similar to previously recorded audio clips attributed to HAARP tests.  (Note: WYFR was not active on 6915 AM at this time.)

5-minute mp3, with tuning around between 6920-6922, USB, LSB and AM modes to center frequency: http://www.mediafire.com/?erzzt2jd0t3

0825 UTC: Same unid "comb filter" type sounds again, seems to be centered around 6931.2 kHz where there's also been a persistent weak carrier for several weeks.

outhouse radio:
HEY LEX  you can get the same effect with a  very fast reverb running into a flanger   makes for a extremely effective jammer   on the first half of your recording  it sounds like there may be a bit of music in there at times     i have heard a guy on 11 meters make the same kind of noise for hours  using a magnum delta force radio they have a hell of a echo board in them   with a few toys and delta force cb equiped with a transverter   a man could create all kinds of  unids in this freq range    anything is possble ya never know for sure
