30 meters
Matt285:
Whats up with 30 meters? 30 used to be my go to band. No contest. Propagation a combination of 20 and 40 with no contest with a 200 watt max. I miss working 10 mhz. This is based on CW activity. Maybe there is a bit more on digital, but even that portion seems pretty dead.
BoomboxDX:
I remember about 15-20 years ago it had a lot more activity. Now I just hear the odd RTTY sounding mode or some digital activity from time to time.
Generally, although there are apparently "more hams than ever" (at least, according to the two ham forum sites I frequent), most of them must just look at their radios on the way to the TV set. Or so it seems. Propagation definitely isn't helping things much, though.
Rob.:
A lot of hams don't call CQ anymore. Most wait for spots on the reflector to show something interesting or they jump into an existing conversation. I hear more CQs on AM than on SSB nowadays.
autovon:
There's always a decent amount of FT8 activity.
Matt285:
Yes a lot of hams don't call CW anymore and base propagation on website reports. Also a lot of new Hams don't stick with it or tend to stay on FM 2M or 440 . Too bad
