HQ180:
Cry Baby 7956 khz fading up as of 1400 utc  about a dash per second

circuitmike:
From what part of the country is this beacon most audible? I've been trying KiwiSDR's in various locations in the west and haven't heard it yet. Does it transmit 24/7 or is it solar powered?

HQ180:
Thats a good question.  There are those rare times in the fall and winter I catch it
coming into Colorado and now and then up on the NUT sdr.  I have even heard it
on the KPH SDR.  I keep its freq. in my receivers memory and therefore check it out most every day.  I do the same with Cry Baby.  Word has it that it operates at a 10mw power.  From a Rumor Mill source ( not absolutely reliable), A human or a squirrel cut though
the positive lead from its battery to the transmitter.
