There has been a ute centred on 6928 and spanning from 6926.5 to 6929.5 kHz for several days now. It is very strong in Eastern North America in the evening and night and makes the frequency nearly useless for pirates.

6926.2 kHz USB (tune)
I have been tracking this one since the 9th of May 2023 which is when it more or less seemed to have appeared on this portion of the band. This is a UNID STANAG 4285 UTE station. STANAG 4285 is a very common data mode in use by NATO and Allied naval stations (land and sea). Although strongest in the evening hours in North Eastern Canada, I have observed this UTE operational during other time frames leading me to believe it may be a 24/7 station.
I have also observed a companion station on 6971.2 kHz USB (tune) and let's not forget the Link 11 UTE on 6942.0 kHz USB.

Not contradicting what was written above but I want to point out that from my casual observations that STANAG signal does not seem to be much of an issue west of the Mississippi River and possibly not a huge problem even immediately west of the Ohio River. (For Canadian localization: roughly west of Lake Superior and Thunder Bay, ON.)
However, listeners in the northeast US and eastern Canada will have a difficult time with it and there are many listeners in that area so keep it in mind.

All transmissions should be in a "non-interfering basis". It's actually written that way on Canadian licenses. Non the less, pirate stations should not be interfering with military / aeronautical / marine etc ... or commercial operations. That is just poor etiquette.

The STANAG 4285 UTE station is now accompanied by an RTTY UTE this evening (N.E. Canada).

Speaking of contradictions, I'm going to contradict even myself here. I can hear that damn STANAG all the way out here now, even on my not-so-great antennas, and I think it's coming from Europe.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I have been "out of the loop" since last Thursday or so. I'm not hearing it on the east coast tonight. Has it been gone for a few days?

I didn’t hear it yesterday or today, it was still there on Sunday.

You can always check out my daily waterfalls of the 43 mb to see when it, or another signal is present (or not): https://radiohobbyist.org/waterfalls/

Yes, I did check those. No sign of the ute since May 28.
