Dang! You beat me to it! I was waiting for Wildfire... LOL
S9 in Charles Town WV icom 7300 G5RV
Based on tonight's theme I'm guessing we'll have more older songs and virtually no recent songs, (which is OK by me!)
The fading is terrible tonight at my location. Dipping from S9+5 down to S4.

Ballsmacker Radio sounding good again tonight. Good tunes playing. The broadcast is a little weak, but still coming through well enough to understand. Thanks for the show!
-
Alex Chilton and the Box Tops with "The Letter". Alex was an ancient 17 years old when that was recorded.
"Message in A Bottle" Stewart Copeland, Andy Summers and that other guy. We used to punk that one up when my cousin and I had a band.
"Mr. Postman" The Marvelettes, such sweet harmonies. The Beatles cover couldn't touch the original.
I think the theme may be, "Letters".
Oh yeah, The Big E, with "Return To Sender", backed by the Prisonaires.
-

XTC with "Dear God". This one used to get a lot of play on my old stations. It's too bad XTC had to quit touring due to Andy Partridge's agoraphobia. The guy was a genius.

XTC with "Dear God". This one used to get a lot of play on my old stations. It's too bad XTC had to quit touring due to Andy Partridge's agoraphobia. The guy was a genius.
I was fortunate to catch XTC opening for the Police in 1980 or 81 when they still toured. Great show. Oingo Boingo opened for both. Elfman is a madman.
-
0208 nice copy and great sound S9. BuddyHolly
0211 Aerosmith/ write me a letter
-
XTC was a big act in those days. I worked a Police show in late '79, I'm surprised they weren't backing XTC.
I know they backed King Joe Carrasco and The Crowns on some dates in South Texas. So did the Go-Go's. King Joe liked to streak across the stage wearing nothing but that crown and his little cape. The Go-Go's were impressed enough to do a music video with him called "Dinero". If you run across Fansome's ghost don't tell him about Joe and Belinda.
S-9 plus for the entire show Ballsmacker. That vertical is getting the job done.
-
Thanks for the Friday night broadcast.
