If it's not a new station using the same call, that may be a replay of 90's pirate KIND.

Piggles, he sees you as his Handsome Al Fansome whilst he reprises your role in said duo of Fansome and Pigmeat, the Continuing Saga..

I see him more as a Jay Smilkstein in relation to WBCQ. He's certainly no Jimmy The Weasel, that's for certain. (R.I.P. to the first two) He's kind of LAD-like, brain damaged by a vicious methane attack at the age of 13. LAD however is doing a long piece in the pokey for his rambunctious, kidnapping, stalking, youthful ways. Any way you cut it, he's no Al.

Hmm...I wonder if they have internet access in the Kentucky State Penal system?

So you're telling me pirate radio culture has a nefarious, much darker side?

You missed Col. Steve Anderson of Yaweh Radio's shoot-out with the KY. State Police? He used an AK-47 in that incident. I can't remember if that was the one he survived and went on the run from, or the one that killed him? Say what you want, but Col. Steve was a man of words and deeds.

He should have stuck to snakes or branch water and strychnine. Both are Bible approved ways to test your faith.

Steve, BTW, was a ham who went bad. He would sometimes use his name and call sign along with the station name. He was on nearly every night. What a nut!

The ham who went bad,  AA8DP ....https://www.radioworld.com/news-and-business/americas-most-wanted-pirate-broadcaster

From that article ....

Quote
Anderson was no stranger to the FCC; he’d already had a run-in with the commission over some of his amateur radio activities. The FCC alleged that Anderson had used unauthorized frequencies while operating as AA8DP. According to its records, Anderson ultimately turned in his license in February 2001, though he informed the commission that it had no authority over him, a self-described sovereign citizen. (He wrote, “I do not reside in any territory or possession of the Federal Government of the United States of America and am not subject to any regulation by this fictitious entity.”)

The FCC recorded the KSMR broadcasts and issued warning letters that the transmissions must stop. They did not. KSMR’s slogan was “Your First Amendment Station, Protected by the Second Amendment.”

So the US government is fictitious but the US Constitution is not? How does that work?

You don't think with Somerset-like clarity. There are still a couple of feuds going on down there. You can't be too careful. (No, I'm not kidding about the feuds.)

That part of KY. can be a dangerous place, period. It's a good place to hide out in, and a lot of people do.

I don't see Col Steve as a pirate, more a religious nutter who used radio to sell his load. Surely true pirates privateer the airlanes out of sheer joy of the medium, not out of misguided religious and/or political zealotry.
