I was looking for this and stumbled across a 1 beep per second beacon on 4094 kHz. Does anyone know what this is? It seems strongest around colorado/utah border area. (Not breaking DF rule just general areas)
-
I have caught the 4094 dasher several times the past couple of days, generally in the early evenings. Good signal last night 4094.0 KHz 01:20 UTC 25 OCT 2020.
-
Sounding good right now (1122z) on the Sedona Kiwi
-
4094 beacon just faded up here and seems to be settling in fairly solid. 01:42 UTC 27 OCT 2020
-
Pretty good signal on it this evening with some fading. Hearing it on the vertical and also on the 60 ft horizontal long wire. A little stronger on the vertical at this point. 01:56 UTC 29 OCT 2020.
-
Nice signal this evening on 4094, some fading but pretty solid overall. 02:45 UTC 31 OCT 2020
-
4094 just faded up as as a new UTC day begins and evening falls across the Arizona farm country. 00:03 UTC 07 NOV 2020
-
4094 fading in and out 00:45 UTC 12 NOV 2020
-
I think this is my first reception of this beacon, dashes about once per second. 1115 UTC 12 Nov 2020.
-
Some fading but a fair signal with its usual dashes roughly one per second. 00:05 UTC 14 NOV 2020
-
Very nice signal, minimal fading at 03:45 UTC 18 NOV 2020
-
Fading up and down just above the noise floor. 01:37 UTC 27 NOV 2020
-
2354 UTC, 30 NOV 2020, very good rx here in Denver. I'm guessing from the reports that it's likely somewhere in the mountain west rather than the desert SW.
-
Weak but readable on KFS SE KiwiSDR
-
4094 heard here in MD at 1131 UTC 7 Dec 2020 with a weak signal.
-
Hearing the 4094 dasher again this morning, 1153 UTC 10 Dec 2020.
-
Right now I can hear it on the KFS SDR

Hey Chris,
In the list of beacons in the stickie it said "...dash rate is 60 per second when it speeds up to the 100 per min that is a signal that a CW message will soon follow...."
Any recollection of the timing between CW messages and the content of the CW message?

No idea, sorry. Not even sure if this is the same beacon ;D

Thanks! I will update the list
-
Interesting. I am hearing it on the KFS SDR now, sending the letter "S" every 65 seconds.

Are you posting about Windy on 4102.85 or are you saying that the dasher format beacon on 4094 is now sending CW??

1048 UTC 28 NOV 2020: Heard a (The?) dasher here on 4094.065 kHz just above the noise on a quiet morning.
-
4094 dasher quite strong here this evening. 01:50 UTC 29 DEC 2020

Syfyr is longing ;) for a formal name for this beacon
I’ll throw out the following and you can add in your own suggestions:
Desert Dasher
Happy Dasher
Daring Dasher
Distant Dasher
Deliberate Dasher
-
We need a name for the 4097 job too! :-)
-
4094 weak but just now fading in 01:15 UTC 10 JAN 2021
-
Weak copy, but hearing it circa 1249 UTC 11 Jan 2021.. and then gone. Fading back in at 1253.
-
4094 faded up with a nice signal this evening. 02:20 UTC 12 JAN 2021
-
Faded up earlier than usual this evening. In and out at this point but making its presence known. 00:18 UTC 13 JAN 2021
-
Started fading in at 1237 UTC 13 Jan 2021.
-
Have it good on the Northern Utah SDR at 0239Z. Often see it there and on the CA SDRs. I'm in CO and have heard it only once here locally in late fall....
Seems to be a regular. Also see DW nicely there as well. Saw DW fade deeply on the SDR while the 4094 beacon was good and steady....both likely not located in the same area, I'd think.
-
Beacon was showing up well on the KFS SE and Omni Kiwi SDRs but it is showing a little high in frequency at 4094.06 KHz
-
1224 UTC 3 Feb 2021 - Weak signal, it's been quite a while since I have heard this beacon.
-
Briefly heard circa 1212 UTC 4 Feb 2021
-
Found a good signal on the Northern Utah kiwi SDR

I just came back from 11 days of camping and exploring in Utah. I brought along my KX3 and the 20/40 meter Par End Fed. There was a very low noise floor and I did hear a good signal on 4094 at roughly 5 AM but it did not last long.
-
got 4094 this evening...it seems to be at a slower rate then before
time now is 0240 utc ...
-
Got it tonight...lots of QRN though...
-
Very nice copy this morning both in the shack and on the NUT sdr S4...

I would have to look at my log...but a few days ago it ided UFO TMP...UFO TMP... UFO TMP...
after TMP two numbers were sent which was the temperature...
It seems to have two speeds ... a slower dash and then a faster dash...I have caught the ID during both dash rates.
