Lots of folks get a vicarious thrill from good reception reports so keep it up. You will be inspiring new listeners to step forward and share.

I was able to jump on the Utah SDR and hear "S". The frequency resolves to 7999.863
Thanks for your report!

Not sure if this is the same beacon with the frequency difference but I have a steady "S" beacon on 7508.9, quite solid at RST 569 here. One "S" about every two seconds. On the Airspy HF+ Discovery and SE/NW 60 ft longwire. Have it on the Icom IC-R8500 as well on the E/W 60 ft longwire but not as strong. 16OCT23 04:12z

Thinking on this beacon made my brain itch.... and it hit me... sounds exactly like a Russian MX cluster letter beacon. On a whim I went over to 13527.9 and 16331.9 on one of my other home receivers where I can currently copy those known S beacons from Severomorsk. This beacon is exactly in sync with both of them. Never believed in coincidences. And it being at a .9 KHz frequency fits. Sure enough, there are loggings for the Russian S beacon in the Russian MX loggings for 7508.9 KHz. My bad, I did not have that frequency listed in my MX beacon info.

This is an explanation for the S beacons heard recently, posted on UDXF mailing list, in reply to my logs there:
It is Russian Navy Maritime Patrol Aircraft Morse net. The ground control sends S Markers for 5 minutes every 30 minutes to inform the aircraft radio operators that the net is available. Sometimes you will get S Markers on multiple frequencies such as 4651.0 kHz CW, 6752.0 kHz CW, 8821.0 kHz CW, 10021.0 kHz CW... Aircraft usually operate on 4671.0 kHz CW or 8830.0 kHz CW. Aircraft will send 4 figure radiograms and the ground control will receipt the radiograms.

Interesting info, thanks for the frequency list! Helps sort out these nets from the actual HF beacons.

I have "S" this morning with a strong signal with moderate fading, and a slow "ditter" in the bandpass. Ditter is at 8000.00 KHz and "S" at 7999.87 KHz. I have seen data and other signals at 8000 KHz in the past so possibly this is some sort of idler other than a beacon. The ditter went QRT between 16:59 and 17:00z. 05DEC23 16:56z Airspy HF+ Discovery 60ft SE/NW longwire
