If you want to know what the atmosphere above you is doing, the NWS sends up their radiosondes. There is monitoring these things directly over in Satellite, Radiosondes and Other VHF/UHF Signals (https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/board,20.0.html) and here is a link for what the NWS does with the data.
