Title: Spanish Numbers station 11635 AM 2115 UTC May 8, 2016
Post by: Skipmuck on May 08, 2016, 2121 UTC
YL with a single set of 5 digit numbers in Spanish followed by a sustained tone and a some kind of growling white noise sound at 2115 UTC tune in....OFF at 2122 UTC
(I'm not well versed in these things but it seems this is a so called "Hybrid Mixed" type labeled HM01 and the "growling white noise sound" is actually some kind of data xmsn...interesting!)
2129 UTC YL back on again with continuous reading of 5 digit numbers in Spanish
(Signal is S5 here and quite readable...so this is from Habana?)
2133 UTC Back to the "Redundant Digital File Transfer" format interspersed with single set of 5 digit Spanish numbers

Yes, this is HM01, and the data format is RDFT.  Typically this station sends 2 sets per hour long transmission period, that is the pause you heard from 2122 until 2129, one set ended and the next began.

The voice used for the numbers is the same voice as V02a used.  The data appears to be an encrypted text file, the same file is sent each time in a given half hour transmission, although at least one time they sent it unencrypted.

T!

Picking it up now at 18:04 UTC on 11635 AM May 9, 2016. Interesting. HM01 is the first numbers station I've ever listened to.

Hearing it right now on 11,635 KHz about 20 dB over the noise floor, sending data burst and short verbal number groups
