Nice copy on the 2097 "A" beacon tonight. I finally timed it at about 9 seconds between characters
-
tonight 0410 UTC on 6-21
2097 "A" beacon with a great signal
4096.24 with a fair signal
4096.6 with a weak signal
-
A - arizona, 4096.23 Hexie in JTNP, so. CA; and an unknown short dasher on what once was the MNP "Kelsie" frequency of 4096.6
also Coxie on 4096.0-ish shows-up daytimes now, again. n.e. JTNP.

I'm not sure I've ever heard the short dasher on dot 6 but Hexie's one second dash is pretty reliable in the evenings here.
-
4096-7 kHz - Jim listen just after sunrise for the "Inyo Whooper" on 4097.25 daytime only within view if the Inyo Mountains, Then about 0830 when Coxie down in Joshua tree 4096.0 or so wakes-up. The other unknown short dasher is there too - about 4096.6 or so - hrd on 21 June near Lone Pine Peak...

I may not be camping out there again until October. My next possible trip will be to the San Juan Mountains in Colorado later in July

Speaking of Arizona, have you heard the temperature beacon on 4079.6 at all? I heard it a few years back when I was first told about it but in recent listening I have failed to pick it up.
-
Seems the TMP beacon is off air indeed - I last hrd. it in early May I think in Owens VAlley.

Hearing the 2097 beacon sending "A" right now, signal comes through a bit then goes through a deep fade.
Using the NRD-525 tonight

2097 "A" Beacon is coming in nicely right now
-
I checked this morning, no A beacon. Nothing on 4 MHz, either.

I checked this morning, no A beacon. Nothing on 4 MHz, either.
Conditions are pretty sucky in my neighborhood with all of the urban noise. Maybe I'll have to take the KX3 out on a day trip
-
4094.5 KHz "X" weak signal with deep fades
-
2097 "A" beacon with a weak but clear signal, mild fading
-
forgot to post up yesterday at 6PM tht I had a decent copy on 2097 "A" and a super weak "X" on 4094.5
Today "X" is pretty strong and pretty good copy on "A" too
Edit: adding in Hexie on 4096.24 weak with fading
-
weak "X" on 4094.5 that is clear enough and has minimal fading. Will check a few others but nothing so far. Sometimes I just leave the radio on one frequency to see if something rises up out of the noise.
-
So far right now I can only hear "A" on 2097 KHz
-
2098.3 at 0708:
-
I've seen it maybe 300 Hz high but never 1300 hertz high
-
So tonight I tuned in WWV at 10 MHz and it was centered on the Elecraft KX3 radio and on the PX3 panadaptor with a +/- 1 KHz span on the display I then tuned to the "A" beacon and tuning to 2097.3 KHz centered the carrier.
Brandon, I've never used a WiNRADIO product but I'm wondering if tuning it 1KHz high to 2098.3 KHz was to get a 1KHz tone out for the CW audio?
-
Here is an image showing a +/- 1 KHz span centered on 2097.3 KHz. Spectrum at the top and waterfall at the bottom. The small dashes are the whole dit-dit-dah

Fair copy on "X" on 4094.5 right now
-
4094.5 KHz "X" beacon coming in decently
2097.3 KHz "A" beacon is pretty strong with a little fading
-
Local rain has cleaned the air out a bit. I am hearing "X" pretty well on 4094.5 KHz
-
2097.3 KHz "A" is booming in with minimal fading. Normally it is down in the noise floor of my PX3 panadaptor but tonight it is peaking about 22 dB above the noise.
4094.5 "X" is weak but readable
Edit to correct freq to 4094.5 KHz

Congratulations on the catch. I searched the forum but did not see any discussion of X's location but if there is we can discuss it there. Because X is not a legal transmitter it is likely that the true location will never be made public.
-
This morning around 06:30 PST I was unable to find a signal for any beacon.
at 21:15 PST local I can report
A on 2097.315 KHz coming in well
-
Right now I have an extremely strong signal for the "A" beacon with minimal fading on a slightly lower frequency of 2097.300 KHz. Maybe a result of the early hot weather?
I have a very weak "X" beacon on 4094.500 KHz
-
am using the NRD-525 tonight and am hearing "A" on 2097.31 KHz
-
Again using the NRD-525 tonight and hearing "A" on 2097.31 KHz

-
"A" beacon with a readable level of signal tonight on 2097.300 KHZ
Again I found nothing on the other frequencies that I have heard in the past
-
The last few days have been so devoid of beacon signals I kept wondering if somehong was wrong with my station. Basically nothing in the morning, Afternoon or evening. Finally tonight I am hearing a good strong CW letter "A" on 2097.300 kHz and am camping on a few other frequencies to see if anything rises out of the noise.
-
"A" beacon with a very good level of signal tonight on 2097.300 KHZ. I can clearly see the Morse code pattern for A on my PX3 waterfall display
-
"A" beacon on 2097.300 KHZ.
-
Well hallelujah!
Earlier today I was lamenting the dearth of 4 MHz beacons poking through the ether. I left the radio sitting on Hexie's frequency of 4096.240 KHz and while I was eating dinner I heard Hexie rise up out of the noise at 19:50 PST! It faded to barely audible after a few minutes and occasionally rises up a bit.

"A" beacon on 2097.300 KHZ.
-
20:00 PST
"A" beacon on 2097.300 KHZ with mild fading from barely readable to sometimes almost 20 over the noise floor. It has drifted down from earlier observations of 15 Hz high so possibly so it may be related to local temps.
I checked 18 discrete beacon frequencies as well as 9 groups of Russian cluster beacons. I will now park on some of the discrete frequencies for a while to see if anything rises up out of the noise.

The 4 MHz beacons are going through deep fades. On other nights I thought I had seen something new, a dasher around 4096.2 and it is there tonight. Maybe Coxie running high in frequency? Just reread and it was a daytime only beacon.

Dang, was trolling through the Auroral Chorus site again and saw that I had overlooked the beacon called Haystack:
"HAYSTACK bcn runs 3 sec dash on 4096.35 kHz 24/7 late 2015". http://www.auroralchorus.com/4096khz3.htm
That must be what I thought was Hexie (which is a shorter dash).
So a summary from their web site:
4095.900 KHz Coxie, 4 sec dash, day only
4095.940 KHz Viking, 3.3 sec dash, 24/7
4096.240 KHz Hexie, 1 sec dash, 24/7
4096.350 KHz Haystack, 3 sec dash, 24/7
4097.250 KHz Inyo Whooper, day only
Right now on my waterfall display I can see both Viking and Haystack. It is just possible that Hexie is coming up out of the noise every so often but I think I see a good trace on the Waterfall display.

Not strong, but good copy on A tonight at 0316z. I don't listen for this often, but when I do it's pretty much always there. (I've never listened other than evenings/night). Even on my low, short doublet, this one has a 'qso quality' signal tonight.
Sure miss the days where I could tune in to 4096 and hear 3 or 4 going at one time....

0600z --I can't hear the Desert Whooper or Coast Slider from my home in DM04. I then try Token's Mojave SDR and can't hear them either. I also tried the KFS Omni, but it does not load. So I then listened on the N. Utah SDR and could hear both beacons with no problems.
It appears signals are "going long" tonight.
FWIW, I heard some fast 20+ WPM CW on 4101.4 fairly strong on the N. Utah SDR and much weaker on my own station. Too fast for me to pick out more than a few letters. 4100 USB has weak Asian language.
