Title: Perseus for sale
Post by: blw on August 15, 2018, 2250 UTC
Perseus for sale. The license for Version 5 software comes with it, so that bumped the price up a bit. Asking $600 shipped in CONUS.

What do you mean by “license comes with it”?   License for what?  The SDK?  V4, V5?

Thanks for pointing that out NJQA. Yes, for the Version 5 upgrade to the Perseus software. I think upgrade price converted from Euros to $70 USD. It was well worth it, imo.

Swap ya a nice R390A for it!
All bad caps and resistors have been replaced as well as new tubes.

:D

That only works for ol' Knobs Fansome. Besides, he'd have to swipe one of his girlfriend's SDR's to make the trade. He's still in the doghouse over dating those identical cousins on the side, Patty and Cathy Lane. He'd be out by the highway selling his slide rule collection for food and a tarp if he swiped one of her SDR's.

The idea of a Fansome in the family put ol' Prof. Lane in his grave, may he rest in peace.

An R390 would make a nice stand for a modern SDR. Very sturdy.

Lol I look at the 80 pound 390s sitting here and at the tiny rtl dongle and mint tin size rsp2, there's 10 or more 390s inside the rtl and rsp2. And yes a 390 would make a fine support for a sdr. Problem is you need a serious table to support a 390 in the first place.

Josh, I've got a table in my basement that started out as the base for one of those old wringer washing machines. You could put 2 390's on it and dance a jig on top of them and that thing wouldn't give way.

It seems to exchange hands with the house? When I asked the guy I bought the house from why it was there, he told me it was there when he moved in and he wasn't going to throw his back out moving it when he left. A strange, but wise man.

I'll deliver, by hand, within 300 miles but I'll never ship one of these behemoths again.
