Close enough to MW to be interesting:

WH2XDE on 1740 & 1745 khz AM mode in QSO with at least two other hams comparing antennas, power levels, etc.

WH2XDE/1 is Jerry in Victor, NY. (strong)
WH2XDE/2 is Penn Yan, NY. (strong)

There were two weaker stations earlier when I first tuned in.

I heard them as well on 1740 and 1745, generally a good signal here.

I heard WH2DXE Saturday night on 1740, just before 0:00 UTC with a fellow talking. There was a clear id at the top of the hour and more talk, but the audio on their end kept cutting out.

There was something on 1740 this afternoon at roughly 21:15 utc. It sounded like joy buzzer on steroids, with a powerful signal. 1-2 second bursts, an intermittent period of quiet for several seconds and another couple of bursts.

I listened to it for a few minutes, but decided to tune down the band to listen to the guys hollering at each other on a local sports show. Much more soothing to the ears.

1750 khz active again right now at 0149z.  Victor, NY. working Penn Yan, NY.  QAM modulation being discussed right now along with DRM and IBOC (puke).  Also hearing some faint fishnet beacon interference on 1755 (first fishnet beacon of the season here).

0223z: Wrapping up QSO, Jerry to leave carrier on until midnight and run CW IDs for any SWLs listening.  Both ops then cracking snarky jokes that SWLs won't be able to decode the CW IDs.

Typical ham arrogance, now coming to you on medium wave.

I had a bit of a carrier there just after 1900 UTC this afternoon. Just enough to know there was something there when the radio was oriented their way. No audio or data to be heard.

I missed that, just fricken great  ::) Not all are like that thankfully
