Using pl/600 with its wire

1627 Time pips to time given at 1627

Disappointed that no reception received from European broadcasters (RRE, BBC) considering I was so high and close to saline water.  Did receive CRI via Havana, RHC, and Radio Marti, so north/south reception was good

Actually, no.  The view shows Downtown New Haven dead center. Towards the left in the photo is the north and west side of New Haven Harbor (LI Sound).  The Carpenters resided further east (left of the photo) in the Morris Cove section of the city.

I was in the very northern center section of East Rock, they resided to the east of the curve in the East Shore/Morris Cove area.
