Post by: RobRich on January 16, 2024, 0147 UTC
Music at 0144z. SINPO 44443. ~S8 via Airspy HF+D and 148' loop-on-ground. Intermittent static crashing, but a decent copy.

Radio Tarma originates from Peru. Reportedly 1KW.

Their opening announcement daily at 1000 (by which time they've usually been on for 20 or more minutes with just music) includes 1510 AM, 4775 shortwave, and 4 FM frequencies--it's FM that replaced shortwave in the Andean region, as elsewhere). By the way, the signal made it to New Hampshire and Hungary 0240 UTC 28 MAR 2024!  On the web page there's a chat box and someone said a month ago "estoy en la mina y escucho en onda corta"--he's in the mine and listens on shortwave.  So that makes two of us.
