0113 Not too good in CT BSR, all stations tonight so far weak and noisy. I can only take so much side band audio to.
-
SIO 333
0109 Ball Smacker Radio ID
0110 Mad Man Across The Water - Elton John
0115 sounds like getting QRM from some other station
0115 Green River - CCR
0116 definitely an interfering station under BSR
-
signal S6-7 on the SDR in Elida, Ohio
01,13 music "Madman Across The Water"
01.16 song "Green River"
-
Encore broadcast in Wideband USB (>5kHz) of last night's show. Experimental...please report good or bad.
-
Ah!
There is something showing up on 6955 though.
-
0124 Signal weak and watery tonight due to bad props ... S4 max.
0217 Water Of Love - Dire Straits
0221 From The Beginning - EL&P Signal improving to S7/8
0229 Dirty Water - The Standells
-
S9 but sounding weak with the K3FEF KiwiSDR.
0124 UTC-Down by the Water by PJ Harvey
0125 UTC-Station ID and email
0126 UTC-Smoke On the Water by Deep Purple
0131 UTC-Walk On the Ocean by Toad the Wet Sprocket
0143 UTC-Black Water by The Doobie Brothers
0145 UTC-Drink the Water by Jack Johnson
Sorry to say, but the signal strength and audio quality absolutely suck compared to before the change in antenna and mode.
I can only take so much side band audio to.
I agree, Satan Sideband sucks (for the most part anyway, MRI does a good job with SSB audio).
Even in USB signal strength is way down over last week and barely any reception on AM last night> I miss the days of "some wires strung up in the trees" Ballsmacker! This vertical is not getting it done!
I 100% agree with you.

0126 UTC "Smoke On the Water"-Deep Purple (Signal is right at the noise floor with a fluttery signal) Not bad and not good :-\
Just checked the prop....foF2 is down to around 4 mhz on the east coast and 5 mhz across the midwest. Long skip is in play this evening.
0141 UTC "Black Water"-Doobie Brothers (S5 peaks now still with a bit of flutter)

Tuned in at 0127 on Barrington Hills IL sdr with fair S5 to S9 signal, song: "smoke on the water", various songs about water, repeat of last night's program,
-
0130 repeat of last night show.very good here.
-
We will switch to the G5RV at 09:45 EDT (01:45 UTC) and then back to vertical at 10:00 EDT (02:00UTC). Both will be marked by 5 seconds of silence.

Sorry, we were a little late on the switch but you should have heard the drop...G5RV until 10:00PM EDT.
-
Real big signal here. Thanks for the show.

Funky conditions tonight. I've been following the funny bands all evening via SDRs in Georgia and Penisylvania. Wildly erratic conditions between the two, although some of that might be due to rx antennas.
Anyway, I just dragged my neglected Palstar R30C out of the closet, tossed some junk wire up across the planter hooks in the ceiling, and after about 15 minutes 6960 popped into audibility despite the heavy blanket of city RFI here. Not strong, but enough to copy Jackson Browne, Ball Smacker ID, and CCR Bawn on duh Bayou around 0200 UTC.
Very peaky/fadey here, but not terrible for a bit of junk wire on the ceiling.
0245z Warren Zevon? SSTV, Ball Smacker ID, Wildfire. Toward the end, signal was a bit stronger here with an indoor antenna than a couple of SDRs with good outdoor antennas. Funky propagation.
I might be motivated to find a spot for the Palstar again and build another indoor loop.

OK, back on Vertical at 10:00PM EDT.
-
"Mannish Boy" by Muddy Waters then the Standells w/ "Dirty Water". The vertical is weaker than the wire last night on the same tunes via the same PA. SDR and antenna.
"Waterloo" could you have given the QSL fanboi's a bigger hint on the show's theme?
Sounds like Talking Heads or at least Tina Weymouth playing bass, very weak.

As to the theme....I was puzzled over "From the Beginning" by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer until I had a eureka moment with "Lake" (Duh....a body of water!). I always regarded Greg Lake's songwriting as the superior of the trio.....
-
I didn't know they wrote songs? I figured Keith Emerson told Lake and Palmer, "Try to keep up." and that was that.
-
Interesting experiments with the modes and antennas BSR.
You got a good thing going only I wish you would get away from the Wolverine Radio "Theme" thing and come up with your own style.
But good job with your station, stick with AM!

Ball Smacker also in SW Finland (Paimio) with nice signal and audio on 6960 kHz after 01.15utc.
