Not sure if this applies immediately to Pirate Ops, but be aware the FCC was very active this week in and around Atlanta---doing routine inspections of AM/FM broadcast. Just a heads up, that they are out, possibly in a revenue generating mode.

possibly in a revenue generating mode.
Sounds like my local PD :P

::) >:(
The "Candy Company" needs funding too!
Wonder if the BIG cut-backs coming next week will affect the loyal agents
and their cronies??
When the $$$ goes so does the enforcement!!
Alas! Alas!

So all ops should add a Louisville Slugger to their equipment list....
;) :D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Some day I hope to sponsor a fundraising event, where a certain amount of money will get you three minutes with an FCC-tracking vehicle and a sledgehammer...

So we'll make it, your tool of choice!

I wonder just how much money they think they will make from pirates? Seems kind of insignificant to me.
When was the last time a shortwave pirate was busted?

Yours truly.
Thus my less than charitable attitude.
Prior to that, was WEAK in February 2011.

Fortunately, the FCC doesn't get any $ from their fines; it all goes to the general government funds. If they did, they'd probably be more aggressive. Likewise, they don't get any $ when they auction off the radio spectrum. The incentive there is that the FCC execs get powerful jobs with the companies they sell to after they leave the FCC.
