Both "The Passenger" and "Jean Genie" were likely written in Berlin when those two were in love and trying to kick heroin. One small problem, Berlin was the heroin capital of Europe at the time, as the Warsaw Pact was dumping the stuff there as part of a cockeyed plan to get the youth of Western Europe strung out. Iggy and Dave's plan to kick backfired, but they wrote a bunch of great songs there.
