Hearing a carrier on and off with 60hz hum. No other modulation obvious. I'm not sure if this is actually a pirate, but I figure it's likely.

Has been running a 1.5 minute on/1.5 minute off sked since first noted around 0157z.

Had been running on times 0200:00, 0203:00, 0206:00 etc.
At 0218:00, instead of a carrier we got:

HAARP according to the #wunclub folks.

I noticed these same wide bursts on my overnight SDR recordings, as well as the 6900 carriers. Thanks for the explanation.
Anyone got an email address for HAARP for a QSL? :-)

You can go to the HAARP webpage and look at the HF spectrum monitor. The yellow lines generally show where they are transmitting, if they are. They have been inactive from November 18, 2012 to early March, 2013. They have evidently been doing some experiments since March 2. You can get an idea of the signal's current frequency from their spectrum monitor and then try to see it on your SDR display. 4750 kHz has been one frequency they have been using quite a bit lately.

The 6900 carrier is cycling 1.5 mins on/1.5 mins off now.
Crap storm coming to 6925 shortly?
