0129 UTC Another one, but the signal is deep in the noise now :(
I recall back around 2014-2015? there was a station on 43 meters with random interval signals...NOT WLIS though.
Time to call it a night here...thanks for the hazy trip down memory lane when the shortwave bands were jam packed with all kinds of stations all around the world! The 1980's were an obsession with me...sad to see it's all gone.
A QSL would be very much appreciated! Sadly, that is another lost art from the golden days of shortwave.

2329 With Birds Interval signal 5+ here.
-
I saw a signal trace on the waterfall of one of Chris's Kiwi's last night on 7000. I wonder if WLIS (We Love Interval Signals) has risen from the grave?
-
Very nice signal S8
2352 - Could this be an encore edition of WLIS (We Love Interval Signals)?
-
Good signal here S7+, enjoying the interval signals :)
-
Heard them on the New Jersey receiver, sure feels like I am in a time warp even though I was born in the 90s
-
0023z another IS. Love it! Keep them coming.
0032z IS
0046z IS at S4

Radio Majak

0102z Radio Canada Int'l
0111z IS
0117z Radio Australia?
0128z IS coming in strong now. I think this is an Eastern Europe one.

0136z IS
0143z Radio Moscow
0149z CW. Guessing this was an ID.
-
Wonder what IS will the station play next?

That's a pirate of some type. It takes all kinds. I haven't heard a pirate on the 40 meter ham band since Jimmy The Weasel went to his reward. JJimmy was active when you were probably in grade school, Shady.
Who was the guy WLIS was always making fun of?
-
Your definitely right Pigmeat
-
signal S9 on the SDR in Fair Hill, Maryland
00.32 IS
00.35 music
00.35 ID "Radio Norway"
00.36 off

I believe it was Ian MacFarland from Radio Canada International?

I am hearing something like this on 6.970 USB now 01:11 UTC

Ian MacFarland.

LMAO! The Hamsters are crowding 7000 to shut it down. Radio Australia calliope version of "Waltzing Matilda". This better than a pile up trying to work Heard Island.
Whoever it is, they've made the rank of "Radio Hooligan".
-
I can hear a man talking but it's even with the high noise floor tonight. Tough copy.
-
He's gone on a couple of extended talks. The accent sounds like he's one of or neighbors to the north, which is going to tick off the hams who have flooded the FCC offices with demands to have him drawn and quartered.
To the agents who might be looking in, we don't know who or what it is either. Probably some Ham who hit a big football parlay over the weekend and spent part of the money on booze.
-
The CW at 0004-0005 UTC was a simple "V V V TESTING"....repeated a few times. I guess that isn't much of an ID! Oh well.....the amateurs aren't going to take kindly to this sort of thing. I am doubtful this was a pirate radio op from 43 meters as they all know enough to stay clear of the ham bands. Most of them anyway! Another bump in the night. :)
Of course, I'm assuming the CW was the same station as the Interval Signal op. The level on the recording appeared to be identical.
This was a lot of fun! :)
-
I'm going with "The Son Of Jimmy The Weasel". Jimmy loved to play with the hams on 40 meters. I guess the kid doesn't have his Dad's singing voice?
Between this and Dickweed's telephone problems, last night was one of the more entertaining Monday evenings in years.
