50's era guitar jazz. Somebody picking a Gibson Les Paul. Varying from a S-5 to a S-7. W.Pa. Kiwi w/ the big loop. Ah, the era when electric guitars were new and everyone was trying to imitate Django Reinhart's old stuff on them.
You guys do know Les had his own pirate radio station in NYC.

Glad you got to hear it, Walt. It was going long in the eastern half of the continent towards the end, it was very faint for the last 2 or 3 tunes. Possibly the best pirate broadcast I've ever heard.

Jazz and early Hip-Hop when you include Gil Scott Heron who helped to pioneer Hip-Hop in the mid 70's. Gil floated in and out of Jazz and rap in this period. He was far more sophisticated than Slick Rick and Curtis Blow.
I remember seeing the video for "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised", on cable access TV, long before MTV existed. Martha Quinn was still in diapers.
