Title: Radio Thailand 13.750
Post by: Grinch on December 08, 2022, 0022 UTC
Currently receiving Radio Thailand in English on 13.750 @ 0:20. Scheduler says it's coming from Udon Thani. Signal is 5/9+20. Has anyone else been receiving this lately? I'm quite surprised to be getting such a strong signal from that part of the world.

I've tried for them for decades with no luck.

I can get it pretty regularly because I'm in Colorado, but most of the time it's SIO 222 or so, seldom a very good copy. Folks on the coast can get it better both because the sun's still up for them and they're right on the ocean's edge.

Where are you?

If you go to page six & look @ my post of Oct. 22 it might be of some interest for you. The further east of the west coast you live the less likely you'll catch their signal out of the air with an actual antenna. I'm Not savvy in regards to other methods of hearing pirate xmit.s (kiwi sdr's, etc.'s). If I may, an amusing footnote for you in regards to actual out-of-the-air reception: @ my previous residence of 15 years outside antennas were forbidden annnddd the roof of the single story single row appt. had aluminum sheet metal covering  the roof so my indoor antenna for the most part caught only very strong signals. With one very strange exception: attached to my R8B with oh about five feet of simple electric chord I used an alligator clip & attached a 6 foot wall heater (permanently attached to the wall). Believe it or Not Pirates found that very strange access port.  Now...as far as Ye Olde Propagation Gods are concerned... !  Cheers & welcome aboard.       Additional: MDK2 said it better than moi. ::)

I forgot to mention, I'm currently in Southeast Georgia. Just for reference and listening on a Xiegu G90 and 40M dipole.
Thank you for your welcoming Uncle John!

Last time I hooked 'em was March 8th, 2021 here in Southern Wisconsin @ 08:20 CST local.   Solid signal.
Haven't tried them lately though.

Just checked & signal barely readable/female announcer. Some shallow irregular fading. Nothing on 15.590.
0035gmt, signal improving ever so slightly... ::)

Fair reception - 13750 AM  0032 UTC  Dec 10 2022

0032 YL talking at length but the noise is distracting.  Hadn't tried to receive them in a bit.  Was catching them frequently while out helping family on West Coast.  I believe they are on with English service 9940 at 1200 utc.  I seem to recall catching that in the past.
