Title: UNID. 7865 USB 1030+ UTC 12 Dec. 2022

1030-1046+  Been hearing someone here playing nonstop Pop ballads, quite strongly for a while.  Heard what sounded like Adele at one point.  Other than that, I'm not familiar with any songs and I don't use any of the mx ID apps.  Heard this also on web receivers throughout the U.S., Netherlands Antilles (TWR Bonaire), and one in Brazil.  Not in Australia.  I suspect it's one of the Brazilian Pirates, but who??

Sounds like this was a "Peskie playing radio". Brazilian pirates are sometimes found around frequencies like this, but they always use AM mode. It is common around this frequency to hear what we call "Peskies" in SSB mode. They use modified amateur radios to talk to each other outside of amateur bands (illegally). Sometimes they seem to get bored of that and play music instead. I still think these count as pirate broadcasts, but some people don't. I think it is worth distinguishing them from the broadcast-only pirates though. This is a bit unusual to hear Peskies playing music on this frequency. They are usually heard in the 6800-7000 kHz range in LSB, where they are thought to be influenced by the North American pirates that occupy this range.
