Very strong signal on 17.480 mhz 2213 utc March 30, 2013.  So strong I can hear the carrier hum and the nasty audio...S8 with the RF stage bypassed and the 10db attenuator on.

Yep, I've got them about s-9 +40 into NE Ohio.  Good catch.

Actually, V07 is not related to HM01 in any way, except both being numbers stations and Spanish language.

V07 is Russian in origin, not Cuban, and V07 is related to E07, G07, M12, and M14, and they are all related to other "family 1" stations.  I suspect the one that will be on tonight at 0100z is transmitted from Kamchatka or far eastern Russia, but I also think there is another outlet of V07 for European based assets.

This outlet of V07 transmits one day a week (Sunday morning) for either 2 or 3 transmissions.  The time of the transmissions varies across the year.  If there is a message to be sent there will  be 3 transmissions, probably at 0100, 0120, and 0140z.  If there is no message, a "null" message, it will only transmit twice.

Thanks for the info guys...  It saves me from asking if someone is doing a matrix of these types of operations :-)

Also am I right in thinking that 'parallel' broadcasts don't happen as often today as they use to?  I remember a number of years back listening to the Cuban stations that did this... or broadcasting on the hour on one frequency then the same message on the half hour on another frequency.  Back in those days I had 6 or more receivers going at the same time hi hi.  Also I use to contribute to ACE magazine via the mails.

Some stations do send parallel broadcasts, but not many these days.  For example the Chinese V26 and M95 do this pretty much every day, normally on 3 freqs at one time, but few others do.
