The problem with 11 meters is that it is unlicensed.
The people there do not work it as a hobby.
No one seems to be interested in working DX.
The lunacy - the crazy people seems to dominate the band when it is open.
It is ok, if all you want to do is look to see if the band is open.
The sheer number of operators is outstanding.
Back when there were few band openings, I used it as an indicator - is 10 meters open, or are the hams just lazy.

Try an 11m frequency other than 27.185a. ;p

j/k

Popular 11m DX hotspots in NA like 27025a and 27385l can be exercises in chaos. Still, there are lots of 11m ops working DX on a near daily basis.

On the 11m freeband side, check out 27555u when 11m prorogation is open. It is a popular DX calling frequency, then ops tend to QSY for QSOs. It is structured more like amateur radio. For example many such 11m freebanders use self-assigned alphanumeric call signs with country prefixes.

Likewise another 11m DX hotspot is 27770u for SSTV, plus there is even digimode activity. JS8 in particular is popular in Europe.
