He bought the tape of the original WBNY show at a yard sale for a quarter in the 90's and added his own touches to it as an Easter only show. I took the character and made him the host of the second Radio Al Fansome as a parody of the way Pat and Al would make snide little remarks about each other on the FRN. Al would send out pellet gun targets of "The Running Rabbit", as QSL's for it. Pat wanted in on the fun and took Commander Bunny and WBNY year round. Then I found the number code of the Bavarian Illuminati in a book on secret societies. I offered to Alan Maxwell, he liked to create his own content and turned it down. So two Commander Bunny's sent the Bunny Code back and forth to each other in the summer of 2002. The thing exploded and I got out after a couple months, it was getting too well known in that summer after 9/11.

I don't know if there were any other Commander Bunny's out there but I suspect there was one. I started sending the code before a tx in the late fall and this guy comes back with it SSB, the voice wasn't Murphy's, it sounded like someone from the Midwest. Who knows how many Dread Commander Bunny's there were that year?

R.F. Burns (Christopher Lowell Murdock, WA1HOD) died at his home in Maine in February 2012 at the age of 59. Commander Bunny is equally dead. As Pigmeat said, there were multiple fake Commander Bunnys.
