Some very faint music during the time period Sealord describes, thanks for the tip.

I could barely here the SSTV at 0831, so I fed it into MultiMode OSX, manually started the decode, and adjusted it as best as I could.

Thank you very much for the proper station ID!

Without being too specific about your location, was this transmitted from Down Under?

Thanks for the confirmation. Now I am even more amazed that I heard it. Congrats on making it to NAm. I hope to hear more of your station in the future.

That's unreal, congratulations Radio Totse - the last time I heard a pirate broadcast from New Zealand was KIWI, 16yrs. ago!

Thanks so much for the verification Radio Totse!  Looking forward to more shows & thnx again for the QSL! :)

Recorder Catch on 6925USB

I noted this in my overnite recording from the other night (and also SL's post), but never really had the time to finish going through the file until lunch today.

0713 Music noted
0718 End of mx, talk by OM op.  It sounds like "...you are listening to..."

From 0720 to 0826, there is definite mx (I could ID none of it) and also talk by an OM op (I could understand none of it).  There was a lot of apparent fading noted here during this period, and the signal often seemed to be below the noise floor.

0833 The signal faded up apparently in the middle of the SSTV.
0835 SSTV ended.  There was some talk by an OM op, and at this point I heard a very very very tentative ID possibly "You are
        (tuned?) to Radio (Totse?)".
0836 Last audio heard.

Very weak and hovering around the noise, with significant fading.  Thunderstorm noise was luckily low at this time.  Still working on getting an SSTV image.

I normally orient the loop to an azimuth of around 60 degrees for the best compromise for Euro pirates and also East Africa.  It was that way for this reception which luckily was spot on New Zealand at around 240 degrees.

WCNA DXers should be hearing alarms going off about now.

Gabriel Syme, does the Voice of Next Thursday transmit on any frequencies/times favorable for reception here in North America?

That is one heckuva backstory!  So if I read that correctly, 4 August 13 was the first day of operation?

This thing just gets more and more improbable, yet it happened.

My QRP power levels aren't favorable to being heard in North America. I use a 10W Corsair on 6925 and have usually transmitted anywhere from an hour before local sunset (currently 0930z) up to an hour after that. I broadcast when the opportunity arose, it was very sporadic. The last time I broadcast was around the new year.

Dak says he'll be back "on air this weekend. Probably around 10:00 utc on Saturday and Sunday."

Awesome - I fixed my coax feed yesterday, so I'll keep an ear out RT this weekend :)

1000z may be a little late for the eastern USA, however, as the Sun is already rising, but I will certainly try to listen as well!  One suggestion - If he could send a few SSTV pictures during the show, it might provide additional opportunities for listeners to receive them and verify that they are indeed hearing the station.
