Very good reception, 350 air miles between the 5,000 watt station and my qth. Especially surprising as it was during a rain storm that totaled 5.5 inches. Tecsun PL 600 with just a whip.
0033 2 OM (play by play/color analyst) with broadcast of Buffalo/Kansas City football game, "....it's 4th and 15, 1:01 remaining and might be the Chiefs' last shot, the pass falls incomplete, the Buffalo Bills will win the game. The Bills can run out the clock as Kansas City had used 1 time out already."

Growing up, by the WNY / NWPA border, during the daytime, Buffalo's WGR 550AM, at 5kW, came-in about the same as 50kW 1520's WWKB, (Ex-WKBW.). Being heard in CT, that must be some great GND conductivity, due to the rains, then cold. Wait until a Zero degree day. I'll bet then, you could pull-in that near Toronto, ON station on 530kHz at 1kW. I, was able to hear that almost everywhere I could hear WGR. Oh yeah, unlike WWKB, which suffers severe fading and phasing at the NY / PA border, at night, 550 WGR is pretty listenable 24/7.
