Title: Australasian Pirate Radio Totse
Post by: BryanDX on September 02, 2013, 0801 UTC
This station on 6925U has been thundering in at North Island and South Island locations of New Zealand since first observed at 0603 UTC on Monday 2 September.
As I type this at 0758 UTC there is a documentary on marjuana being aired. In an eQSL reecived last weekend the operator said his location is Central North Island.

Thanks for the heads-up this morning!

0849z: A very faint signal can be heard right now, sounds like talk as opposed to music, occasionally popping above the S3 noise floor.  A bit early yet for any sunrise enhancement here but I suspect the signal will strengthen in another hour or two if still on.

0943z: SSTV
1025z: Announcement, sounded like a Radio Totse ID given, signal is still faint.
1135z: SSTV
1139z: "You are listening to Radio Totse"
1220z: Faint but still being heard
1222z: Off now?

Hearing Radio Totse here as well, some QRM from the FL shrimpers for a short period of time.

Tuned in at 1042. Some signal here. Could hear some vocals with vibrato that with the weak signal & static, sounded to me like Iron Maiden or some band in that realm. Then hammered by a QSO by the US shrimpers (talking about how Joel's phone service is unreliable at his new apartment, red vs. white shrimp, the price of shrimp, etc.). During this time, I could hear what sounded like some intricate flute, kind of like Irish folk music.

My 1st time to actually hear Radio Totse. I left the radio on a few weeks ago & caught a pretty nice SSTV image, but the signal this morning didn't seem to be that strong.

Thanks for the show!
Andrew

Hearing it faintly in the S3 noise floor @ 1120
Signal is in & out, can tell speech from music, but that's about it

1130, 1142, faint music

Reviewed the overnight recordings. Very faint into GA, audio was just on the edge of being discernible from the noise. A few shrimp boats made copy even tougher. A faint trace of SSTV at one point as well.
