Live coverage of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) soccer tournament hosted by Côte d'Ivoire. Think of this competition as a World Cup for just African nations (other continents do likewise, Asia also at the moment). It looks like BBC has picked up coverage as part as its African targeted transmissions.
1404 Lone OM on match call, rate of speech and pitch changes with action. Occasional crowd noise, chants/songs/cheers - also PA system heard. Match is between Burkina Faso and Algeria.
1427 Second OM joins first OM in light conversation. I'm thinking this is mandated water break as temperature is nearly 100F at Bouake, Côte d’Ivoire now.
