- probably a modified V07 Spanish Lady, observed again from 0700
0710 UTC  Mon  9330 AM S9 U.Twente recorded  https://voca.ro/1bxLTQVavpVZ  (https://voca.ro/1bxLTQVavpVZ)

Thomas wrote below  HM01 and V07 are not the same.
Thanks Thomas for the correction! That's right - I found out that these are different senders.
Enchanted by the Spanish girl, I thought it was V07, disbelieving that I could hear them so well from Cuba.

Thanks for sharing, Kris.  Sounds like HM01 out of Cuba, but I’d heard she went QRT.  HM01 always boomed into my QTH, but I haven’t looked for her lately.

Hi Kris.

HM01 and V07 are not the same.

HM01 (Ex V02/a) is used by the Cuban DGI agency, while V07 is a sister station of E07, operated by the RUZZIAN Family Ib which is the ENIGMA alias for the SVR (the 'civil' exteriour spy sewer of Ruzzia).

V07 has only one sched once a week on the early Sunday morning (central European nighttime) for Oceania, Far East and/or Australia and New Zealand. The chance to copy it in Poland is very low.

So better don't mix these two - it could confuse other listeners.
 ;)

Regards

HM01 has recently been active in the morning hours (N. Am time, e.g. 1600 1700 and 1800 UTC on 11435, 11530, and 11635 respectively). That said, as I write this it is Tuesday Feb 6, 1607 UTC, and there's nothing on 11435 at this time. I haven't found it during the afternoon hours (2100, 2200 UTC) but did see someone report that it was active above the 20m amateur band, maybe 14375 AM (going by memory) on a recent day during one of those hours. That's a different frequency from the ones they used to use at those times. Anyway, yes, there's recent activity but it's not as predictable as before, which probably is an indication of continuing transmitter problems in Cuba. I'm guessing Arnie Coro really was about the only person who could keep on top of them, because their issues seem to be worse since he died.

2120, 10 FEB 2024, tx on 13435 AM rather than historic 16180 for this hour on Saturdays. Can hear English language broadcast of YL speaking mixed in at times, which I assume is RHC, but the announcer isn't someone I recognize (though I haven't listened to a EE RHC broadcast in a couple of years at this point). It's too low to actually copy anyway.

Number groups and documents being transmitted (captured with EasyDRF, build date 10 AUG 2023):

Even though this is one HM01 "day" (which runs from 1600-1600 UTC) later than my previous post, the progression of the final digit for the repeating number groups seems to indicate 3 HM01 "days" have passed in their system. Good ol' HM01.

13 FEB 2024, 1800 UTC, 11635

Monitored this one throughout the daylight hours here (1600-2300 UTC) on the 12th, and noted that all the usual morning frequencies (1600/11435, 1700/11530, 1800/11635) were normal, but the afternoon transmissions were stuck on 11635 starting at 2100 and continuing well into the 2300 UTC hour (last noted it was still going at 2310z). No QSY to 10715 or any other frequency. It repeated the previous day's transmission without change to the last digit of each number group.

Today (the 13th) there was nothing at 11435/1600 or 11530/1700, but 11635 at 1800 saw a transmission. No new files, but the number groups all saw the final digit progress by one.

14 Feb 2024, 0500 UTC, 10860 kHz AM.

Progressed last digits and one new number group and file. It appears as if HM01 has abandoned the 1600 timeslot as being the one where the new message set comes in, and that 0500 (the earliest timeslot used by HM01 in the UTC day) is now when that happens. Need more observation to see if that holds. (I'm curious if they're transmitting at any new times or frequencies.)

Excellent SINPO 55555 reception. Cuban spies take note, this might be the best time to tune in.

EDIT 1633 UTC: Hearing number groups on 11435 starting at 1628z, which wasn't transmitting earlier in the 1600 hour (though my last check was c. 1615z). It's the same as the new ones copied at 0500 above, which tends to support the notion that HM01 may now be debuting new/updated information at that hour. SINPO is 12211, far too weak to try to receive digital signal.

EDIT: 2318 UTC

Hi MDK2 - it's great that you analyze their activity!

Thanks, I hope my observations prove of some use.

There was normal transmission activity at 2100 UTC on 11635 and at 2200 UTC at 10715, without running into the 2300 hour. Same number groups with no change as would be expected.

Another day where 0500 UTC, not 1600, is the first transmission where the repeated number groups advance their final digit (with the standard practice of the previous day's new set retaining "1" as the last digit on its second day still being adhered). So that much, along with this time slot's frequencies are the same.

EDIT 0558 Strong signal on 14375, so that frequency and the early start to the broadcast are also still the same.

EDIT these same number sets copied at 1600z/11435, 1700z/11530, 1800z/11635, 2100z/13435, and 2200z/14375.

It's possible that 0500 was 18 FEB's only transmission but I would clearly need confirmation from other observers. Kris (below) noted nothing at 1000 UTC.

I did look at all known HM01 frequencies for 19 FEB, 0500 UTC and also found no transmission as of 0535 UTC, before going to bed, but there was nothing.

After not copying any signal at all for the 0500 hour broadcast, I was surprised to find HM01 actually going BACKWARDS in their cycle. Their transmission on 18 FEB (see above) showed that they had skipped ahead four days from what went out on 17 FEB. But today, they're transmitting the number sets we would have expected on 18 FEB. In other words, they've gone backwards by three days in the cycle.

It's premature to even speculate if they're abandoning those strange formats but it's something I'm wondering about.

There wasn't any signal at 11462 kHz into the 0500 UTC hour, so I set up my SDR to record each hour to see if I could get it later. There was nothing at all until the 0900 UTC hour when HM01 finally came up on 11462, but it was repeating the number groups that were sent yesterday, 28 FEB, without progression.

(Unfortunately I programmed the incorrect frequency for recording the 1000 UTC transmission, so I don't know for sure if they repeated this that hour at 12180. Will monitor the daylight hours just to see.)
