Title: Oven Roasted Chicken Thighs
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on February 14, 2024, 1226 UTC
Chicken thighs for dinner last night. Super easy to make, add some spices, roast in the oven. 360F for about 35 minutes.

What are the spices? That one screams paprika.

What are the spices? That one screams paprika.

A mix of:

Black pepper
Crushed cayenne pepper (might be what looks like paprika?)
Aldi Stonemill Blackened
Aldi Stonemill Smokey

No additional salt since the Aldi rubs have it already.

I have totally eliminated 'table salt' from my diet,
since most everything you buy has more than enough sodium already, yes??!!!

I have replaced it with 'potassium' salt substitute, if I want anything more 'salty' tasting---
and this seems to have totally eliminated any horrible 'screaming leg cramps'
which I used to suffer from, usually awaking me from sleep---

From what I had read, those could have been caused from a potassium deficiency--
and possibly less than adequate hydration

I've occasionally suffered from leg cramps as well, for me they would occur randomly, usually I'd go for months without any, then get them a few times.

I started taking some potassium tablets at night, which seems to help. There's also some claims it helps with sleep.

I mostly cook my own food from scratch, vs buying packaged/prepared food, so I need to salt it myself.  Mixing in some potassium based "no salt" salt in with my table salt might be a good idea as well, to increase daily potassium intake - good idea!
