Quote by Fox 1605 on 6322 USB   Katyusha by Anna German

We are sorry, Poles, that a song by this Polish popular artist who contributed to Polish culture was used.
In the interwar period, her family lived in what is now Russia and was persecuted by the Soviet authorities. Anna was personally harassed by a security officer because of her rejection of his love affairs.
Even though they were deported deep into Russia, they managed to escape to Poland through the border with Iran. These tragic experiences did not destroy her sympathy for the simple inhabitants of Russia,
who were often equally persecuted by the communist authorities.
