Hey guys, Great forum. I'm interested in learning about sstv transmissions. If someone could please point me in the direction of what time and place to find sstv, preferably on 11m that would be greatly appreciated.
I've got an unlicensed station in New Mexico with an rci-2950 and two uniden CB radios. I've also used 2 way radios for sstv and have been able to send sstv for about a mile or two.  Also, if I can help anyone with other technical details, It would be a pleasure.

27700 USB is the most popular SSTV frequency, I have found.

I just posted some SSTV pics there yesterday. I had the radio and SSTV decoder on all day today, but only got one picture.

I actually saw that thread. Thank you, Chris. You said that the operational mode was martin 2 and I noticed it wasn't available in the software I'm using (qsstv in linux mint). I picked up on some mystery operational mode today, not really sure what it is, but it was also on 2778 on usb. Do you know of a martin 2 test sound I can find n line. Maybe it matches what I'm hearing.

That's not it, maybe what I heard was just interference. To state the obvious, if I'm hearing voice from all over the continent, if I keep checking in on 2770-2780, I'll find something.

The most popular ham frequency is 14.230 USB (and sometimes 14.233) with lots af activity. I don't know what modes are the most popular but saw some Martin 1 and 2 when I checked and I have sometimes seen the Scottie modes used as well.

Thanks, will check that frequency. Maybe, I'll try to get some sstv out on 11m later on.
