Title: Ohnoz! Voice of Revolutionary Vinco archive is gone
Post by: n2avh on July 15, 2024, 1731 UTC
For many years we have been able to enjoy a smattering of VoRV recordings at http://www.bunkerofdoom.com/vorv/index.html, but I just checked today and the domain is suspended for lack of payment.  I don't think this content is available anywhere else, so I'm hoping whoever owns that domain will get it resolved or post the content somewhere else.  I haven't learned the past subjective gerund in Vinconian yet!

Yay, thanks! I did see the Wayback version at the time but assumed the MP3 links wouldn't work...they do!

Probably be a good idea to download the recordings while you can. I did that several years ago with all the KIPM shows on New York International's site which I think also disappeared at least for a while. You can't rely on personal websites to be there for more than a few years. There's tons of stuff from back in the day (mostly personal blogs from before the rise of social media) that I can't find anymore, even with archival websites.

I just checked the link. The archived page is still available, but all of the MP3 links were dead. Not a lot of VORV segments were produced, but it was great stuff

Fortunately the original page is working, but as stated above it would be wise for someone to archive it so I'll do that even though I don't have a server to make it available to others. (Done--only took 2 seconds with Sitesucker, unlike the Jerry Berg's On the Shortwaves site which took a couple of hours. (I think that has been preserved elsewhere but I didn't know that at the time.) I also grabbed the DSWCI site which was going away.
