Title: utterly weird sounds on 10140 LSB 2251Z
Post by: atrainradio on October 14, 2013, 2253 UTC
I have absolutley no idea what it is! Its like random tones being played. Then it stops and now some data noises are coming in with the tones underneath. It might be a numbers station. Priyom.com has something about it Ithink. Help me out here this will bug me!

That's a ham band - it sounded like one of the zillion MFSK modes to me.

That is (at least the tones part) JT65A mode, a very minimal data exchange mode.
Actually would be best decoded on 10138USB.  Sounds kinda like an out of tune pipe organ.  Each transmission lasts 46 seconds if I remember correctly.
Google will give more info and free decoder software.
