Title: Trying to Outrun the Cardinals’ Long Reach
Post by: Beerus Maximus on October 31, 2013, 1355 UTC
A great, rare article about mediumwave and DXing in a mainstream news article. Worth the read, and the comments are quite good too.

ST. LOUIS — About 7 p.m. Central on Wednesday, a voice will declare on a radio wave transmitted at 1120 kilohertz, “This is KMOX, the voice of St. Louis,” and millions of homes from Denver to Alabama and Louisiana to North Dakota will be able to hear Game 6 of the World Series come to life on an AM radio.

Even mentioned the ionosphere and D & E-layers. And QSL cards.

Pretty odd article these days, but very glad to see it. Need more like this, perhaps it will drive some curiosity.

Glad he didn't mention IBOC.  (And wish that KMOX would turn their IBOC jammer off).
