Hi All...
I maybe new to the forum, but I was attempting to DX before I was 5 (about 1980). Reflecting back a bit, I was at an early age with a tiny black and white TV without any type of rabbit ears. Faintly, I can remember these crazy "antenna" that I would attempt to build with aluminum wrap and wired coat hangers .. trying to get an elusive station in Lexington, as I was in Louisville, KY at the time. My father had a giant console type SW radio I liked to mess with. So, electronics tinkering etc. has been there for a long time.
Anyway, all this reminiscing has got me back to messing with radios, and thus found this as a virtual home. Looking at the history of various stations over the years has caught my interest even more, and I found out about the meeting annually near Philly.
If anyone is going this year (2014), please send me a message. I'd like to at least meet briefly/hang out and chat if you are also going to be there.

Sadly, I will not be able to make it. Then again, this might be because of the fact I live in the UK

Boy, a DXer at 5 years old, lol. I was 11 I think when I logged my first station.
I've been to most Winterfests since 1996 and will most likely attend this March 2014.
Please feel free to email me at crlobdell@verizon.net if you'd like!
