Title: Radio 69 6925 LSB 0426 27 FEB 2025
Post by: myteaquinn on February 27, 2025, 0427 UTC
0427: Nice S9 signal playing Bukakke Tears by Steel Panther.
0430: Total Eclipse of The Heart by Dan Band.
0433: Earache My Eye by Cheech & Chong.
0436: Several people talking with echo effects. Quite the jumble. Peskies playing pirates?
0459: Rainbow In the Dark by Dio.
0505: The Underpants Song by Rudy.
0508: Demon Kitty Rag by Katzenjammer.

Turns out the echo issue was a technical issue here not the op.
Station ID by the op in HF Underground Chat.

Just tuned in...
0459 Rainbow In the Dark by Dio
Hearing someone talking with an echo in the background.... can't tell if this is interference or coming from this station. I think it's interference from the same dumb a** from the other night.

Stepped out for a min..

0514 Everyday Normal Guy 2 by Jon Lajoie
0516 Tommy the Cat by Primus
The echo guy is weak now and in the background.
Signal is around S6.
0521 Heavy Metal by Sammy Hagar
S7 on occasion now. No match for the no-talent hack who has no content other than interference.
0524 Take On Me (Instrumental Mix) [2015 Remastered] by a-ha
0528 Feuer frei by Rammstein
0531 Ich habe die Macht by The Horrorist
If I may critique a little bit... your filters on transmit aren't allowing much bass to come through.
0535 Ding Dong Song (Radio Edit) by Günther & The Sunshine Girls
0538 Vicarious by TOOL
Echo guy still trying to interfere, but just not cutting the cheese. You're WAY stronger. Your antenna, wattage, and propagation are all in your favor here.
0545 Turn to Stone by ELO
http://www.sndup.net/fqk9n here's what I hear at my QTH.
0549 What I Got (Reprise) by Sublime
0551 couldn't make out the dialog... sounded like Alex Jones maybe??? A bit of fading.
0555 Blame Canada by South Park
0557 Brand New Wave Upper Ground by JUDY AND MARY
0601 Irate Tile Man by The Jerky Boys... I used to have tapes of these guys back in the day!!! Lots of laughs!!!!
Echo guy still trying and miserably failing... at least here in MO.
0604 To Another Galaxy by Tokyo Ghetto Pussy
0611 Insulator Job by The Jerky Boys .... so funny
0613 3 A.M. Eternal by The KLF
0618 Egyptian Magician by The Jerky Boys
0622 couldn't get a lock on the song
0627 Jerky Boys
A bit of QSB
Still listening....
0630 Boten Anna (Radio Edit) by Basshunter
0633 OTA

Thanks for the unexpected show! Please eQSL.

It most certainly is 'interference', and I intend to outlast them... so the music choices may not be ideal going forward, this was more just a test transmission but now it's a fight of stubbornness.

sadly, this is what i was trying to test. the SSB on this old transceiver is just not ideal. I'm shocked I got it even listenable-ish, but turning up the bass just turns it into a distorted mess. I need better equipment (or someone smart enough to modify the circuits on this old thing, which I am currently not)

No worries. You can clearly see by my logs you're winning hands down.

Not bad for 100w into a homemade dipole thrown up into a tree  ;D

Can't go wrong with that. I worked Europe with a homemade fan dipole on 10m and 20m with no balun and using wooden insulators back in the day.

Oh... and maybe 15 feet above ground on 200 watts.

i'm a novice to the social aspect of this hobby, can you (or someone) give me an idea of how to QSL with a pirate?

It's amazing how far things can go once that ionosphere gets involved. I'm hearing myself in the canary islands, it's crazy.

We used to design QSL cards back in the day,  like a unique postcard in exchange for a signal report. Google it and you'll understand. Nowadays it's all done electronically via email and whatnot.

I'm sure there are a few here in the equipment thread that might be willing to help you with sound and whatnot... maybe PM some ppl if you want to remain anonymous. Either way,  thanks for the show!

Yeah, I heard Australian hams earlier tonight.

Also, love your username.... I've heard that guy on shortwave since I was at least 17... and I just turned 50 last November. And I'm pretty sure he died a while ago, in the last few years. But WRMI still airs replays of him because I still hear his voice on the air.

Have a good night.  You pulled it off for sure.

My usual broadcasts are all shortwave staples. I curated datasets and trained a bunch of AI models of Brother Stair, Reviewbrah, Hal Turner, Alex Jones, Glenn Hauser, Art Bell, Allan Weiner, Timtron, and I host the show *as* brother stair usually... and "we" all sing songs and do little skits. It's a strange concept, but I have fun with it. It's fun when I expect, say, Alex Jones to crush a song only to be upstaged by Hal Turner or such. Complete misuse of technology, but heck, someones gotta do it :P

I'll give it a look. I tried to feed Claude's new AI the schematic of the GX (can't find the service manual for the ii) and sadly the quality was too poor for it to be able to read (it's in rough shape), so I guess I'll try to be more social and maybe someone has a trick. I'm decent with soldering and procuring parts creatively, I just don't know where to start in there, it's quite a nest of components. I'll get a QSL made (been meaning to for almost a year, but was confused if this was *actually* what I was supposed to do, thank you)

Pirates often use eQSLs. That is, they send a verification of reception via an email message to the email address provided by the SWL. Some will add graphics, some just send a plain email message.

Does anyone have a recording of the full show last night? I was really enjoying it but had to go to bed before end. Fantastic music choices, love a genuine underground set. Really loved hearing some King Missile, thanks for the show!

Brotherstair, what was that version of Take On Me you played? I don't know if it was just the weird reception but the vocals sounded almost like it was a Japanese girl singing it, though the music beneath it sounded like the original version.

lol, you'd be correct-ish. It was a Hatsune Miku cover, a "vocaloid", which is Japanese software that can be programmed to sing. Theres a bit of a cult following for "Miku", of which I can't say I'm a member, though I did find that cover enjoyable.

It can be located here:
