Title: 260.370 FM - Pirates?
Post by: k5fms on April 18, 2025, 0003 UTC
I have a full quieting signal on them at my QTH.
I can't catch the language, it's not English nor Spanish.
2 each OM speaking to one another.

Also on 263.569 MHZ FF & MM

Brazilian pirates speaking Portuguese, I had a Brazilian friend of mine listen to my recordings on 263.570-236.580 to verify.

They're using MUOS legacy UHF transponders.

But how did that make it to the US? That would be unprecedented via E skip or F2, and even TE (which is theorized to be a combination of the two, at least as of 40 years ago when I followed these things) would be impressive at that frequency.

They access old US Mil satellites, commonly heard worldwide.
