Title: Radio Xoriyo 17630 khz 16:00 - 16:30 UTC
Post by: glimmer twin on December 21, 2013, 1615 UTC
Heard via Twente as I was spending a Saturday morning finishing paperwork before Christmas break. Listed as via Issoudon  500 KW.  Opened with speech by OM into nice African music at 16:10 with breaks for more talk in Somali. Audible on Twente SDR despite apparent white noise type jammer on frequency.  Is this a new one?
Its new to me,anyway. Web site is:

16:20z  I just remembered that I have my new tecsun PL880 with me. Outdoors, away from the building, I was able to receive Radio Xoriyo pretty well. The 880's S-meter said 36 dbu on peaks. The program seems to be mostly talk with only little bits of music.

I am also hearing a man talking. I just don't understand his language.
